This Yellowstone horseback riding and rafting adventure is designed for guests 7 years and up. You’ll ride with experienced wranglers on scenic ranch trails, then embark on a thrilling river experience with our expert guides.
Even if someone in your group chooses not to ride, they’re welcome to enjoy the beauty of the ranch on foot. It’s an ideal way to take in the stunning landscapes of Gardiner, Montana.
OUR ADVICE:
- Picnic lunch: Add a delicious $15 picnic lunch at checkout. We’ll have it ready at check-in for you to take to the ranch. After your ride, enjoy dining under a shaded canopy while taking in the beauty of the ranch!
- Horseback riding gear: Wear long pants and close-toed shoes.
- Rafting attire: Swimwear or quick-dry clothes. Be ready to get wet!
Please note: You’ll drive yourself from our office to the horseback riding ranch just outside of town.
Lunch includes: A full picnic lunch guaranteed to satisfy your hunger! Turkey & cheese sandwich served on a hearty roll, watermelon, potato chips, and cookies for dessert! There will be plenty of ice-cold water and lemonade.

What should I bring for a saddle paddle trip?
Be sure to bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap, a hat for sun protection, long pants and close-toed shoes for horseback riding, and a swimsuit or fast-drying clothes for rafting. You may also want dry clothes for afterward.
We provide all rafting gear, including life jackets, footwear, and wetsuits or splash jackets if needed.
Is the Saddle & Paddle trip family-friendly?
Absolutely! This trip is designed for ages 7 and up, and is a favorite among families visiting Yellowstone. The horseback portion is calm and guided, while the rafting trip can be tailored to your group’s comfort level (choose whitewater or a scenic float).
What’s the difference between whitewater and scenic float?
