We have learned from our many years of experience with Yellowstone Horseback riding that children age 7 and up do best on the rides.
There is a myriad of scenic trails on the ranch to walk for those in your group not wishing to ride so everyone in your group can enjoy the outdoors. This is the perfect way to experience all the beauty and adventure Gardiner Montana has to offer!
OUR ADVICE:

During your horseback ride wear long pants and shoes that cover your toes along with a hat, sunscreen, bug repellent, long-sleeved shirt, and a warm jacket if needed. You may bring a camera that fastens securely around your neck.
*You will need to provide your own transportation to the ranch.
EVENING COWBOY COOKOUT & 1-HOUR RIDE

COWBOY COOKOUT ONLY: $60/ADULT, $50/CHILD
TRIP LENGTH: 1 HOUR + DINNER
START TIME: 6 PM RIDE, 7 PM DINNER
Join us for a 1-hour evening Horseback Ride with our wranglers guiding you through the Gallatin National Forest wilderness while you enjoy gorgeous views of Yellowstone National Park. Finish your day with our Cowboy Cookout, and satisfy your hunger with a delicious, home-cooked, all-you-can-eat meal as the sun sets over the mountains. Afterward, relax around the campfire, roast some marshmallows, and bask under the Big Sky of Montana!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What should I bring with me for the ride?
Bring a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a raincoat. Chances are the sun will shine, but it’s better to be prepared in the mountains. Cameras, binoculars, snacks, and gloves are all optional. Don’t bring firearms, backpacks, bear sprays, or fanny packs.
What should I wear?
For the best experience, we recommend dressing in a long pants, sturdy shoes that cover your toes, and your top should be weather dependent.. If you are booking a ride in May, early June, and September, wear extra layers of clothing, thermal underwear, a heavy jacket, and warm gloves.
Can children join the rides?
Children must be 7 years and older.
Do I need experience to ride?
Our Yellowstone horseback riding is suitable for beginners. Regardless of skill level, our expert wranglers will guide you from start to finish and keep you safe on your journey.
Where do the rides take place?
Our horseback rides occur in the Absaroka Mountains in the Gallatin National Forest. You’ll need to provide your own transportation to the ranch.
